After over 3 years of development, we are proud to present the first of the Dunlaing watch collections: Eyre. Pronounced "air", it is named after the square in the centre of Galway city. This timepiece encapsulates our core 3 design concepts, as well as the techniques we have developed on this journey.
Using only high-end movements, we were able to design a thin watch, without sacrificing any elements of the Eyre's distinguished shape. The slim and light design leads to a watch that is incredibly easy to wear.
There was only one movement befitting for the Eyre, the Miyota 9039. This automatic movement is incredibly accurate and reliable, adhering to our core design concepts entirely.
We robustly test all of our watches, to ensure that they align to our values. The Eyre has been configured with no date window, as it was shown to lead to reduced legibility. As a result, the Eyre watch collection does not use movements with a date wheel, to avoid issues that usually occur with ghost date complications.

Reviews
When I preordered the Eyre, I was intrigued with the history of Galway and its proud expression in the watch design. Of course, I had to order the Irish green dial. The movement is engraved with cobblestones reminiscent of the town square or “Eyre” and, of course, the traditional Hooker sailing vessel that was so historically important to Galway. But the pride and quality doesn’t stop there. For around $540 USD, who would guess that the watch would have a titanium case and bracelet, screw link pins, and a screw down crown. Added to the workhorse movement and exhibition case back, this has to be the best value in watches this year. It’s also the most comfortable wearing watch in my collection. Very well done Dunlainge. I can’t wait for your next release.
My son in law is Irish now living in the UK.
I saw, loved and bought this watch for him as a thank you for building our new home.
The watch was a symbol of his pride in being Irish…. not always pleasant in UK!
It is beautiful and he loves it. Well done a fantastic, practical but beautifully designed watch.
