On June 29, 1963, United States President John Fitzgerald Kennedy visited Galway, Ireland. It was the first visit of a serving U.S. President to Ireland, and the excitement and pride surrounding the visit were immense.

On this day, President Kennedy addressed a large crowd in Eyre Square. He delivered a memorable speech expressing his deep connection to Ireland and his commitment to the Irish people. He highlighted the contributions of Irish immigrants to America and the shared values between the two nations. He famously stated, "I am proud to come back to Ireland as the United States President."

In 1965, the square was officially renamed "John F. Kennedy Memorial Park" in honour of U.S. President John F. Kennedy; despite the renaming, the square is still widely known as Eyre Square.

To further commemorate President Kennedy's visit and his historic connection to Galway, a memorial sculpture known as the "JFK Commemorative Plaque" was erected in Eyre Square. The sculpture features a bronze plaque with Kennedy's profile and an inscription of his speech.

President Kennedy's visit to Galway symbolized hope, progress, and the promise of a brighter future for Ireland. It brought a sense of optimism and renewal, inspiring the Irish people to strive for progress and unity.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, your product may be returned or exchanged within fourteen (14) days of receiving it. Our policy begins 14 days after your tracking number indicates delivery. If 14 days have gone by, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return:

• Product must be in brand new condition

• Product must be unaltered and unused (bracelet cannot be sized, strap cannot be worn)

• Protective plastic still needs to be intact, if applicable

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
